Limberg Mining Company SA (Pty) Ltd is currently looking for a competent SHEQ Officer to be based at its Thaba Mine operation near Thabazimbi, Limpopo.

REQUIREMENTS:

• University or equivalent Environmental Science degree;
• Min. 4 years’ experience as Environmental officer;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Fully conversant with MS Office;
• Preference will be given to members of the Baphalane Ba Mantserre, Sebilong, Thabazimbi, Baphalane Ba Ramokoka, and Smashblock communities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducting safety, health and environmental inspections on site;
• Report and investigate all SHE incidents on site;
• Ensuring that Water and Dust monitoring takes place monthly;
• Engaging and managing external service providers/contractors;
• Engaging with regulatory authorities and stakeholders, e.g., DMRE
• Undertaking IWUL and EMS internal audits;
• Undertaking performance assessments as per EMPR;
• Undertaking external audits;
• Conducting in-house safety, health and environmental training with employees;
• Conducting safety, health and environmental awareness through toolbox topics;
• Facilitating implementation of the ISO 14001:2015;
• Drafting safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and strategies to promote sustainability within the organisation;
• Monitoring compliance with the current EMPR, IWUL, MHSA and all SHE related requirements;
• Drafting safety, health and environmental management plans and ensuring actions are adhered to;
• Compiling inspection reports and monthly reports;
• Compiling final internal audit reports;
• Compiling water monitoring reports as per IWUL and submitting to DWS
